Biography
Fulbright Specialist Lee P. Gary, Jr. has more than 25 years of experience with emergency management in ever-demanding, complex, adverse arenas including aiding private firms, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations seeking to prepare for and respond to natural, human-caused, and technological disasters.
His focus is on sustainable management of vital resources through local coalitions and partnerships, and his forte is balancing economic development and environmental stewardship to foster diverse stakeholder involvement for sustainable growth with resiliency. Gary's interest is in nurturing knowledge transfer to strengthen institutional building, uninhibited transparency, and genuine inclusiveness, plus enhance community resiliency for extreme events.
Gary is the Owner/CEO of Strategic Management Services – USA, a consultancy specializing in designing, managing, and evaluating strategic initiatives for mitigating dirty water and human waste to safeguard community health. He is also the founding CEO of Sanitary Consortium Inc., a global project team of resource scientists and business executives formed to manage human waste reuse in Haiti.
His global experience covers leading renewal projects in Botswana, Poland, Romania, and Russia, blending the interest of local stakeholders and investors with unifying expectations – plus hosting and customizing environmental development programs in New Orleans for senior officials from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, sponsored by international donors.
