SMS Terms of Service

Program Description

SoPA uses SMS messaging to communicate with prospective students, applicants, admitted students, and other individuals who request text communications regarding academic programs, admissions, enrollment, and student support.

Examples include:

• Application updates
• Admissions reminders
• Requests for additional information
• Event reminders
• Appointment confirmations
• Enrollment information
• Program information
• Student support communications

User Consent

You may opt in by providing your mobile phone number and giving consent through a SoPA inquiry form, admissions form, application, or other approved method. By opting in, you provide your express consent to receive SMS messages from SoPA, including messages sent using automated technology where permitted.

By participating, you confirm that you are the authorized user of the mobile number provided and have authority to consent to receive SMS messages. Your consent is not a condition of applying to or enrolling at Tulane University.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use this SMS service only for lawful purposes and not to misuse or interfere with the messaging service.

Message frequency varies depending on your interactions with SoPA.

Message and data rates may apply.

Please contact your wireless carrier for details regarding your messaging plan.

Opting Out

You may opt out at any time by replying:

STOP

After opting out, you will receive one confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS communications unless you opt in again.

START

After replying STOP, you may opt back in by replying START or by submitting a new SMS consent form.

Privacy Policy

Your information will be handled in accordance with our SMS Privacy Policy.

Supported Carriers

SMS services are available through participating U.S. wireless carriers. Carrier participation may vary. Message delivery is subject to your mobile carrier’s network availability and is not guaranteed. Supported carriers, message types, and compatible devices may vary. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Changes

Tulane University School of Professional Advancement may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with the effective date. Your continued participation in the SMS program following the posting of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
