Eddie Francis

A native of New Orleans, Eddie Francis is the director of communications and marketing at Dillard University, Louisiana’s oldest Historically Black College/University (HBCU). Prior to Dillard, he led marketing and communications at Southern University at New Orleans and Paul Quinn College in Dallas. Because of his experience, Eddie has appeared as a guest on “The HBCU Nation Radio Show” on SiriusXM Channel 142 and the “Thought Feeder” higher education digital marketing podcast. He has also written about the value of HBCUs in The Huffington Post. Eddie earned his master’s in strategic leadership from Tennessee State University and his bachelor’s in mass communication from Loyola University New Orleans. He is a member of the American Marketing Association where he serves on the organizing committee for the Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education as well as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Eddie resides in the Greater New Orleans area with his wife, Dr. Halima Leak Francis, and his son, Steven.
