Creating a Culture of Excellence

Our events and student organizations are designed to engage and inspire

Not only do we bring the best and brightest from creative industries direct to our students and community, we also host educational experiences. Our three national student chapters of the American Advertising Federation, Public Relations Society of America and the American Institute of Graphic Artists provide direct connections to the larger professional industries for our students and faculty.

Overview The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. Founded in 1968 by its parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), PRSSA includes nearly 7,000 student members and advisers, and is active on nearly 375 colleges and university campuses, including in Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Puerto Rico.

There are so many professional development and networking opportunities – both local and national – for students who join Tulane’s PRSSA Chapter. Opportunities include monthly meetings, networking with professionals in the field (both in New Orleans and abroad), and attending national conferences, seminars and webinars.

Overview The AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists) brings design to the world, and the world to designers.

As the profession’s oldest and largest professional membership organization for design—with more than 70 chapters and more than 15,000 members—we advance design as a professional craft, strategic advantage, and vital cultural force.

Our student chapter of the AIGA meets monthly to host, plan and support educational opportunities, skill-building workshops, bring in national or regional speakers, and support our students and program at large. In the past, the AIGA has hosted skill-building events such as Procreate online tutorial webinars, Von Glitschka for Illustrator demonstration. Also, creative events such as Mardi Gras headdress making workshops and pumpkin decorating workshops were held to bring students together during hectic times of the year. Annual dues for student members are $50 annually.
