Career Outlook for Education Coordinate Majors

One of the highlights of the Education Coordinate Majors pathway at Tulane SoPA is that it allows you to learn how to be an educator along with specializing in another interest with your primary major — without adding time to graduation. Within this program, you will take 60 hours of general education courses, 30-36 credits within your major, and the rest will be in Elementary or Secondary Education.

This gives you even more job flexibility post-graduation and the ability to specialize in what interests you while still following your passion for molding the minds of tomorrow.

After graduation, you will be certified to teach either 1st- 5th grade or 6th-12th grade in Louisiana. If you'd prefer pursuing an administrative role, you can continue your education with a Master of Education online at Tulane SoPA.

In Louisiana, the average salary for teachers varies by the school district and is based on compensation progression criteria.

As a certified teacher and subject-matter expert, there are multiple career pathways available to you including certified classroom teacher, education policy researcher and education non-profit administrator.
