Tulane SoPA accepting applications for Student Advisory Board

Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) is now accepting applications for its Dean’s Student Advisory Board, a group created to give students a direct voice in shaping the school’s programs, services and operations.

The board advises Dean Amelia Manning and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Bill Rials, offering ongoing feedback on policies, operation and curriculum. By providing a forum for student perspectives, the board ensures that SoPA leadership hears directly from those most affected by decisions.

Appointees serve one- or two-year terms to ensure that the board has both continuing and new members each year. The board meets virtually at least twice a year, and members may be called upon to provide input through surveys, focus groups or other forms of engagement. In addition to advising school leadership, board members are invited to participate in special events. Each fall, students on the advisory board are included in a reception with SoPA’s Recent Alumni Council and key donors during Wave Weekend.

Applications are open now. Students interested in joining the board should complete the online application by Friday, Sept. 26, 2025.

I am so appreciative that I had the chance to serve on it,” he said.
