Applied Business Studies Degrees & Certificates

Are you seeking to move in another direction, advance in your current career, or open a new business?  If so, SoPA’s Applied Business Studies Degrees and Certificates, along with our Minors, at Tulane School of Professional Advancement provide the knowledge and analytical skills you need to reach your goals. Our highly focused Applied Business Studies degree programs target the key areas you need to manage business entities, market products and services, develop solid relationships with customers and employees, account for profits and outflow, and otherwise succeed in your chosen field.

Public Relations Program Concentrations

New technologies arise every day, enabling companies and organizations to communicate to their audiences in different ways, track their messages and engagement, and measure the results of those interactions. Students in our Digital Media and Marketing Communications concentration will learn the cutting edge technologies, strategies, and methodologies of digital and social media, as well as how they integrate with corporate marketing, sales, and public relations initiatives.

 Professional Certificates in Applied Business Studies

Our Professional Certificates in accounting, applied business, digital media & marketing communications, human resource fundamentals, marketing, public relations, and small business development allow working adults to hone their skills in key areas of theory and practice. Each Professional Certificate requires completion of 12 to 18 credit hours of coursework, and students must obtain grades of C or better in all required courses.

Minors in Applied Business Studies

For students who are majoring in other disciplines and wish to develop knowledge in a specific area, the program also offers six Applied Business minors.

Career-Focused Curriculum

The Applied Business Studies programs in accounting, applied business, human resources, public relations, marketing, and small business development reflects the multidisciplinary needs of our students who work in businesses and are seeking to advance in existing careers or retool for new challenges.

Note: Students may not earn more than 27 credits in Applied Business Studies courses or apply more than 27 credits of Applied Business courses toward a degree in any other School of Professional Advancement degree program. Further Applied Business credits earned at the School of Professional Advancement may not be transferable to an AACSB accredited business school.
