Student Transfers

At Tulane School of Professional Advancement, we know that finding the right fit for your educational needs is a huge decision. If you're interested in transferring to Tulane SoPA, our advisors can work with you to determine which courses will be accepted and help you navigate the process. We accept credits for transfer from all fully accredited institutions.

How to Apply to Tulane SoPA as a Transfer Student

The first step in the transfer process is for students to submit official transcripts, not photocopies, from all other previously attended colleges or universities. Transfer students must send college transcripts to the School of Professional Advancement, either via email or mail, in order to be eligible to transfer course credits earned at other institutions.

Electronic transcripts are preferred and can be sent to soparecords@tulane.edu. Alternatively, you can mail your official transcripts to the following address:

6823 St. Charles Avenue 125 Gibson Hall Tulane University New Orleans, LA 70118

Once we receive your transcripts, one of our admissions advisors will work with you to determine transferable credits. In order to transfer course credit from another school, Tulane SoPA must offer a comparable course, and the student must have achieved a C- or higher. Courses transferred from other institutions are never figured into the grade point average. Your advisor can also help you in the case that your previous school operated on a quarter system instead of semesters. Tulane SoPA accepts a maximum of 60 hours of transfer credits for bachelor’s degrees.

If you're a high school student looking to earn college credit through the School of Professional Advancement, you will need to submit your high school transcripts, as well as your ACT or SAT scores. Read more about concurrent enrollment and requirements.

Tulane School of Professional Advancement students wishing to take courses at another institution must first receive approval from the dean's office and their appropriate department.
