Non-Degree Seeking Admissions

Explore Courses Before Committing to a Degree

If you want to explore different academic areas before formally committing to a degree program, you can enroll at the Tulane School of Professional Advancement as a non-degree student. Qualified students can enroll in courses as non-matriculation students, exploring how Tulane can support their professionals goals.

Admissions Process

Non-Degree Seeking Graduate Student

  1. Visit the Start Your Application page
  2. Select "Non-Degree Seeking Graduate"
  3. Submit
    • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended, including proof of an undergraduate degree
    • Statement of purpose
    • Application fee

Non-Degree Seeking Undergraduate Student

  1. Visit the Start Your Application page
  2. Select "Non-Degree Seeking Undergraduate"
  3. Submit
    • Unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended
    • Application fee

Note: Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for admission purposes for undergraduate Non-Degree Seeking students.

Academic Policies

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA to continue Non-Degree Seeking enrollment
  • Students may enroll in graduate-level courses with approval from the program director
  • Program director approval is required each semester
  • Enrollment is limited to no more than 6 credits per semester
  • Grade type cannot be changed
  • Approval for one semester or program does not guarantee future approval
  • Courses are taken without degree-seeking status and do not guarantee admission to a graduate program
  • Up to 9 semester hours of Non-Degree Seeking coursework may be applied toward a graduate degree, subject to approval by the program director and Dean

Tuition and Discounts

  • Non-Degree Seeking graduate coursework is not eligible for tuition waivers
  • Students may be eligible for alumni or other discount programs
