Information Technology Student Experience
Women in Technology Mentorship Program
The Women in Technology Mentorship Program at SoPA is committed to providing support and mentorship to women who seek to obtain degrees in the Information Technology Program.
Cyber Competition Team
The Tulane SoPA Cyber Competition Team consists of both graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in competing in local, national and international cyber challenges.
Students volunteer for the team and are then authorized (based on grades, experience and interest) to take a Cybersecurity course elective that hones Cyber skills and creates esprit de corps, while counting towards their program degree requirements. Students who perform well in this course are then accepted onto the Cyber Competition Team, given the team shirt, and volunteer their time to practicing and competing.
IT Capstone Projects
Students in our Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Programs will complete their degree by taking a Capstone course that enables students to apply the knowledge, skills and abilities gained in their studies to a real-world IT project. The SoPA Information Technology academic programs department partners with local, regional, and national organizations to complete technology projects that improve IT business operations and cybersecurity, while exposing students to real-world context and requirements.
Your Capstone project will not only ensure you can apply your learning to real-world IT situations, it will ensure that each student has a portfolio-ready artifact as an example of their applied learning at Tulane SoPA.
Note: If you are a business/organization that wishes to partner with Tulane SoPA to provide an Information Technology Capstone Project for our students to engage in, please visit our Community/Industry Capstone Project Partnership page to find out more and to apply.
