National Guard Bureau Homeland Security Institute Student Transfers

The Tulane School of Professional Advancement is a proud partner of the National Guard Bureau Homeland Security Institute (HSI). This partnership allows United States military service members who have completed the HSI Program of Study and earned a “National Guard Bureau, Homeland Security Certificate of Completion” an opportunity to transfer 9 credits toward a Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security Studies or Master of Professional Studies in Emergency Management.


Online Master's Degrees

Master of Professional Studies in Emergency Management

  • Develop the strategic and analytical skills to plan for and prevent emergencies within complex organizations such as corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Find degree-specific information here.
  • 11 graduate courses. 9 core, 1 elective, 1 capstone
  • Complete online in 18 months

Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security

  • Prepare to work in the fields of emergency management, intelligence analysis, counterterrorism analysis, cyber security, border protection and security, and infrastructure protection at all levels of government and in the private sector. Find degree-specific information here.
  • 11 graduate courses. 7 core, 3 electives, 1 capstone
  • Complete online in 18 months

Transfer Process

To begin the transfer process, you must start an application for admission to SoPA and request official transcripts from all of your previous colleges and universities.

Request that your previous institutions forward electronic transcripts to soparecords@tulane.edu. If electronic transcripts are not available, official transcripts in unopened envelopes from the institution may be mailed to:

Once you have been accepted and we receive your transcripts, an academic advisor will work with you to determine your transferable credits.
