Welcome back, Tulanians! As we gear up for another exciting academic year, it's important to be prepared. Use the checklist below to help you navigate the upcoming semester with ease. From academic necessities to personal well-being, we’ve got you covered.

Double-check your class times and platforms used. Adding the classes to your calendar can help you keep track of your change in schedule.

Ensure you have access to your Tulane email and are checking your inbox daily.

⬜ Access Platforms

⬜ Review Syllabus & Course Materials

Review your syllabi on canvas and any introductory materials provided by your instructors.

⬜ Set Goals

Focus on what you want to achieve within the semester. This could be specific grades, mastering certain skills, or completing assignments on time.

⬜ Seek Support and Resources

Build relationships with your professors and advisors to help position yourself for success in your academic and career pursuits.

New to SoPA

Meet Colleen Timmons, Tulane SoPA Assistant Director of Academic Advising

Colleen Timmons primarily works with SoPA students seeking to earn degrees in the areas of Social Science, Humanities and General Legal Studies, while also assisting students in the pre-nursing program. Before joining SoPA she spent three years working with an international student population at Anglo-American University in Prague, Czech Republic, and previously spent 17 years in Academic Services at Tulane University School of Law. She has also previously taught composition as well as English as a second language to international students.

This inspiring movie screening, hosted by the Tulane Innovation Institute and Tulane Ventures, will illuminate women's challenges in securing venture capital and female investors working to change the status quo.

Media + Design Fall 2024 Kickoff

Thursday, August 15, 2024 | 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST | Uptown Campus

The Kickoff is Media + Design program's annual, mandatory, information session for new and returning Media + Design students are provided with program information, advisors and faculty are introduced and information about student organizations is shared. Food and door prizes will be available for those to who choose to attend the in-person portion. A virtual attendance option is also available for students who are not local starting at 6 p.m.
