Scholarship Opportunities for Veterans and Active Duty Members

A smiling member of the military

With so many active-duty members and veterans in our country who have answered the call of duty and selflessly worked to protect our freedom, it is only right that there are scholarship opportunities to help them pursue the education that they deserve. If you or a loved one are currently serving or have already served our country, review the following scholarship opportunities and information to make obtaining a degree more manageable.

AFCEA Military Personnel Scholarships

These scholarships are for active military and honorably discharged military members, and includes several opportunities for those who are working to obtain a degree in engineering, computer science, or technology. If you are enrolled in one of these programs and have at least one year of undergraduate education completed with at least a 3.0 GPA, this scholarship may be for you.

Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship offers up to $2,500 in tuition assistance. Women interested must submit an essay with their application detailing what type of education they are pursuing and how they will make an impact in the world once they have completed their program.

Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund

While we all know the sacrifice that service members make, we sometimes forget about the sacrifices made by their loved ones at home. This scholarship recognizes that commitment by offering 60 scholarships per year to spouses and dependents of Navy service men and women.

Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund

This scholarship helps honor and recognize the biggest sacrifices our service men and women make for us. This scholarship provides up to $25,000 of tuition support for children and dependents of active duty members who lost their lives in combat or are permanently disabled as a result of it.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides financial support of up to $30,000 for the children of active duty or veteran Marines. If your family has an adjusted gross income of $93,000 or less, you may qualify for this generous fund.

While it's impossible to completely thank active-duty members and veterans for their service, these scholarships can help remove some of the financial burdens of pursuing a degree. Tulane School of Professional Advancement has many educational programs that these scholarships can be applied to and also provides additional resources for veterans and active-duty military members.
