Tulane SoPA announces new Master of Teaching degree with full scholarships for future NOLA teachers

Eligible students who enroll in the new degree program can receive a full tuition scholarship plus a $5,000 stipend when they commit to teaching in Orleans Parish for three years after earning the degree.

Catalyze and refine innate skills for developing social change in the context of the current educational systems locally, nationally, and internationally. Emphasis is placed upon reflection, inquiry, and personal involvement in planning an effective and successful career in education.

Principles of Advertising - MDES 2400
Online Lecture | 3 Credit Hours | Attributes: SoPA Humanities Requirement
Learn about the fundamentals of advertising, beginning with the history and evolution of advertising as an element in the economy, a specialized form of communication, a craft, and an area of ethical sensitivity. 

Immigration Law Practic- GLSP 4070
Online Lecture | 3 Credit Hours 
Explore the development and enforcement of immigration law in the U.S., based upon the Constitution, federal laws, and social policies; identify the social institutions involved in immigration; and evaluate the administration of immigration benefits.

IT Security+ Certification - CPST 4912 
Online or Uptown Lecture | 3 Credit Hours 
This course is for students with a basic understanding of information technology who wish to do a deeper dive on Cybersecurity and also prepare for, and potentially earn, a CompTIA Security+ industry certification at the same time. This course is open to both undergrad and grad students.

Public Policy Foundations - MPAD 6000
Online Lecture | 3 Credit Hours 
Explore policymaking, implementation, and analysis with a focus on practices that reflect the values and priorities of diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Emphasis will be on policy within local and urban contexts. 

Stress Management - KINE 2230
Uptown or Online Lecture | 3 Credit Hours | Attributes: SoPA Science Requirement
Examine stress from a psycho-physiological and behavioral perspective and discuss the science behind how stress effects the mind and body, students are given the opportunity to experience strategies of coping with stress. Learn how to cope with everyday stressors as well as those that occur unexpectedly.

Health and Medical Issues - HMLS 3150
Uptown or Online Lecture | 3 Credit Hours  | Attributes: SoPA Science Requirement
Discuss the important health and medical management issues involved in crises and emergencies, and the wide range of health issues inherent to crisis including biological, radiological, nuclear events and emergencies.

Persuasive Public Speaking - SPEC 1400
Uptown or Online Lecture | 3 Credit Hours | Attributes: SoPA Humanities Requirement
Learn the principles of audience analysis, speech composition, and delivery with a focus on persuasive techniques.

Tulane University requires all students who are NOT in a graduate online only program be in compliant with our immunization requirements. The Emergency & Security Studies program of Tulane School of Professional Advancement is holding SaFEST, a safety information fair on the Berger Family Lawn.  Open to everyone, the SaFEST will feature demonstrations, displays, giveaways, and more, all focused on being safer at home and during work or play.
