Tulane's ICMA chapter is a concierge for career-building, helping both graduate and undergraduate students build careers in the public, civic, and private sectors.

Our chapter—the first in Louisiana—is a career pipeline that bridges our university community with the world by connecting students with professionals, career programming, and opportunities and by driving positive change through collaborative projects with employers. Among the benefits that we offer are experiential learning, networking opportunities, mentorship, access to internships and scholarships, best practices and advancement education.

Originally launched within Tulane SoPA's John Lewis Public Administration Program, our Tulane ICMA chapter is part of a broader network of more than 11,000 local government professionals worldwide who are dedicated to developing thriving communities via innovative solutions, idea sharing, and recruitment of talent through professional networks. At Tulane, our alumni have emerged as leaders in fields, such as economic development, law, communications, healthcare, academia and educational leadership, and nonprofit management and fundraising—just to name a few! Our current Tulane membership are interested in a wide range of career fields, including but not limited to federal, state, and local government; law; civic sector management; economic, workforce, and community development; environmental sustainability; technology policy; social entrepreneurship; public safety; international relations; and national security. We are inclusive of all and embrace the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

All are welcome and invited to join us by registering on WaveSync. We look forward to helping you build your dream career!
