Biography

Rebecca Carr is the Media+Design Program Director and Professor of Practice in Digital Design. Prior, to her time as full-time faculty, she was a member of the adjunct faculty at Tulane SoPA from 2007 to 2019. She received the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2018 and the Emily Vokes Faculty Service Award in 2019. Additionally, Rebecca serves as a Co-Faculty Advisor for the Tulane AIGA student group. She was awarded "Educator of the Year" from the Advertising Club of New Orleans in 2023. Ms. Carr received her MFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005. She worked for Tom Varisco Designs in New Orleans for three years before starting Rebecca Carr Design in 2008 and then formed Toggle Design Collective with a longtime design colleague. Ms. Carr has done design work for a variety of businesses and non-profit organizations with a focus on schools and other education-related groups.
