Certificate Requirements
Our certificate program includes courses in policy, social equity, data, and civic practices as related to environmental management and resilience. Environmental management is arguably the single greatest civic, economic and governance challenge facing the Gulf South region in our lifetimes. This region of the U.S. also has expertise to share with professionals in other places who are grappling with related challenges; this MPA concentration and graduate certificate program from the John Lewis Public Administration Program at the School of Professional Advancement will provide a valuable forum in which to tackle these pressing issues.
Earn a Master of Public Administration With Stackable Certificates
Expand your career options in government, the private sector, nonprofits, and philanthropy with a Master of Public Administration (MPA). Graduate certificate credits can be applied to an MPA with our "stackable" certificate program. Take an additional eight courses, including seven required courses, to earn a Master of Public Administration degree. Specialize this advanced degree with a concentration in Nonprofit and Strategic Philanthropy Management, K-12 Education Leadership, Economic Development or Environmental Management and Resilience.

Dr. Halima Leak Francis is a nationally accomplished educator, practitioner, and scholar whose career spanning more than 20 years has focused on strengthening capacity, sustainability, and equitable practices within nonprofits, philanthropy, and higher education administration.
