Biography
Dr. Ryan Albright, MURP has more than 20 years of experience in the public, private, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors ranging from his time as Program Officer for the Greater New Orleans Foundation to his current role as Senior Policy and Planning Consultant. Ryan has worked in Michigan, Maine, Ohio, Texas, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico to address a variety of community, economic, and environmental development challenges.
At present, he is a Professor/Lecturer in the John Lewis Public Administration Program and the College in Prison Program. His research interests focus on achieving effective policy and programs through design, implementation, and evaluation for the public sector, non-profits, and communities through applied research. He is passionate about working with elected officials, residents, and students, to bring the most recent and relevant science to bear on the challenges facing their communities, especially in the Response, Recovery, Mitigation, and Preparedness Phases of Disaster.
Ryan has studied British Polity at the University of London and the University of Edinburgh. He holds a BA in Public Administration & Public Policy and a Master of Urban & Regional Planning Degree with a concentration in Global Urban Policy, both from Michigan State University. He earned his Ph.D. in City, Culture, and Community - Urban Studies from Tulane University with concentrations in Public Policy and Disaster Response and Recovery.
