Biography

Porsha Hughes is the Senior Student Services Advisor at SoPA, responsible for building programs and shaping student culture, supporting students during their matriculation through SoPA with a focus on special populations such as veterans. Ms. Hughes brings with her years of student support experience.

Prior to Tulane, Ms. Hughes worked at Xavier University of Louisiana as an Admissions Counselor in the Office of Admissions. Prior to that, she served as the Success Coach for the Earn and Learn Program with Cowen Institute at Tulane University.

Ms. Hughes is passionate about access to an excellent education for students and excited about the work of SoPA. She holds a B.A. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Hampton University and 10 years of experience in higher education.
 
What are your favorite activities when not working?
Trying new food, going on adventures, and listening to music.
