Dr. Kelly McClure began her career at the national teacher training institute of Morocco as part of the United States Peace Corps. She continued her focus on education in Boston, where she coordinated two literacy programs and served as a teaching fellow at Boston University School of Education. From there, Kelly’s professional experiences in education broadened, from serving as the founding Deputy Head of School of a 6-12 high-performing charter school in Salem, Massachusetts, to becoming the academic director of a charter management team in New Orleans that launched seven K-12 schools, to leading content design and delivery for a national non-profit dedicated to teacher leader development. Most recently, she worked at the Louisiana Department of Education and was responsible for the design and delivery of policy, strategy, guidance, and training related to diverse learners. Prior to joining SoPA full time, Kelly was part of the team that developed the curriculum for the Special Education add-on certification for teachers and the first course in Educational Leadership and Policy for the master’s program. Kelly hails from Boston University where she earned her Ed.D. in Educational Administration, Training, and Policy Studies, and her Ed.M. in International Education Development.
