Biography
Shawn Talmadge was appointed to serve as the Virginia Department of Emergency Management’s State Coordinator and Deputy Homeland Security Advisor in January 2022. His previous state leadership roles included Deputy Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security and Governor’s Homeland Security Advisor. In those roles, he also supervised the Secretariat’s Homeland Security Division and the Departments of Emergency Management, Fire Programs, and State Police.
