Biography

Rob grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, but after a 7th grade trip to Washington, DC he committed to making it his home. After attending the University of Michigan Rob went to George Washington University Law Center before settling in as a reporter covering Capitol Hill for a number of print news outlets.

Although no longer his vocation Rob continues to write having published more than 400 articles, essays and short stories in over 90 publications.

In 2000 he launched Marketresearch.com which at its peak sold more industry research than any other platform through its Profound, Knowledge Center, Academic, Freedonia, Packaged Facts, Simba, Focus and Custom channels. He sold the business in 2024.

Rob is currently a board member of Leviathan Productions, an independent film company focused on Jewish Stories and Main Street- Inclusive Housing for adults with special needs in Rockville Md. He is also co-chair of the Antisemitism task force at the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington

Other volunteer and philanthropic work includes board seats at The Sweetland Writers Center (University of Michigan), the English Advisory Board (University of Michigan), Charles E Smith Jewish Day School and Young Presidents Organization.

Rob and is wife Jill have 3 children who live in New York: Josh (Penn ’19) works in banking in EdTech, Jessie (Michigan ’20) is a digital marketer and Natalie (Tulane ’22) works for Steve Madden.
