Biography
Dr. Teaway Zehyoue Ghoram has a passion for teaching and motivating students to engage in classroom discussions and is dedicated to developing their critical thinking skills as scholars. Dr. Ghoram has extensive work experience in the private and public sector that allows her to bring a wealth of practical and professional knowledge to graduate students in the School of Professional Advancement at Tulane University. Her private sector experience includes serving as Consulting Manager at Postlethwaite & Netterville now EisnerAmper in their New Orleans and Baton Rouge Offices and serving as Corporate Internal Auditor at Macy's Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio and San Francisco, California. Her public sector experience includes serving as Policy Director at the Louisiana Department of Health, Legislative Auditor at the Louisiana Legislative Auditor Office, Budget Administrator at the Louisiana Department of Education, and serving in the Policy Office of Former Louisiana’s Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Ghoram is the Founder and Lead Consultant of NoGi Consulting LLC which provides national and international consultancy in planning and development, project management, and public policy initiatives. Planning and Development focuses on coordinating and planning for sustainable outcomes, engaging with stakeholders to develop strategies, and providing training, professional development, and detailed recommendations. Project Management focuses on strategic planning of short-term and long-term goals, effectively communicating and documenting processes, and successfully achieving measurable deliverables. Public Policy Initiatives focuses on policy analysis and policy research in health policy, education policy, foreign policy, international development, political development, and economic development.
Dr. Ghoram is originally from Liberia, West Africa, but she has lived and worked in cities throughout the United States including Louisiana, Ohio, New York, and California. Her research interests and multiple publications are in the area of international development particularly focused on economic development and political development and in the area of racial equity and social justice. She has been an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated for over 20 years.
Dr. Ghoram holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Public Policy with a concentration in International Development and a Master of Public Administration degree from Southern University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Louisiana State University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
