Taurean Mingo

Taurean Mingo is a Senior Academic Advisor at SOPA. He advises graduate students in the MAT program through the S.E.E.D grant. A proud native of New Orleans, LA, he attended the University of New Orleans achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Master’s in Higher Education Administration. Taurean has over 7 years of experience in higher education working in multiple areas ranging from college admissions, recruitment, and academic advising with first year and transfer students. Prior to joining SOPA, Taurean served as a Success Coach for the local non-profit Son of a Saint.

He comes to SOPA with a passion for helping prepare and guide all students toward their future academic and career goals. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, listening to music, watching sports, and attending concerts and local festivals.
