Biography
Rebecca Carr, MFA, is the Media + Design Program Director and Senior Professor of Practice in Digital Design, Graphic Design. Prior to her role as a full-time faculty member and program director, Rebecca was an adjunct faculty member at Tulane SoPA from 2007 to 2019. She received the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2018 and the Emily Vokes Faculty Service Award in 2019. Additionally, Rebecca serves as the co-faculty advisor for the Tulane AIGA Student Group. A tribute to her teaching excellence, she was awarded "Educator of the Year" from the Advertising Club of New Orleans in 2023. Prior to co-founding Rebecca Carr Design, and more recently Toggle Design Collective, she worked for Stewart Enterprises and Tom Varisco Designs. Her design and branding work, namely for non-profit and educational institutions, can be seen throughout the New Orleans metro area. Rebecca received her BA in Studio Arts from Loyola University New Orleans and her MFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005.
