Biography

Mike Ince serves the City of New Orleans as Deputy Director of the Mayor’s Office of Nighttime Economy. He has over 15 years of experience in state and local government, with a focus on community development, legislative affairs, and small business support.

Most recently, Ince served as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, where he worked closely on programs under the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and managed legislative initiatives on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor.

Prior to that, he served as Director of Community Development for the City of Kenner, leading housing and community revitalization strategies. Ince was instrumental in founding the Rivertown Main Street Program and the Rivertown Arts Council, initiatives that continue to strengthen Kenner’s cultural and economic landscape.

Throughout his career, Ince has prioritized community revitalization and economic development, particularly by supporting small businesses through strategic use of federal and state grant programs. His experience also includes extensive work in legislative affairs, workforce development, and arts-based economic initiatives.

Having worked in the food and beverage industry during high school and college, Ince maintains a strong commitment to addressing workforce issues affecting the hospitality sector, advocating for policies that support both workers and small business owners in the nighttime economy.

Ince holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics from Florida State University. He is also a Fellow of the Loyola University New Orleans Institute of Politics.
