Lisa Simpson Hoover

Lisa Simpson Hoover is the Founder and Managing Member of The Law Office of Lisa Simpson Hoover, P.C., where she represents individuals in plaintiff personal injury litigation. With experience on both sides of the courtroom, Hoover brings a comprehensive perspective to legal education, having previously served as claims litigation counsel for State Farm Insurance Company, handling auto accident claims and extra-contractual litigation in Florida and Illinois.

Before entering private practice, Hoover served as an Assistant State Attorney with the State Attorney’s Office in Sarasota, Florida. She is licensed to practice law in six states - Florida, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Illinois, Georgia, and Louisiana.

An active leader in the legal profession, Hoover serves in national roles with the American Bar Association, including Chair of the ABA Women in Dispute Resolution Committee (2024–25) and Chair of the ABA Women and Diversity Committee (2025–26). She is also a member of the American Arbitration Association’s (AAA) roster of neutrals and a Florida Supreme Court-certified Circuit Civil Neutral.

Dedicated to mentorship and the development of future legal professionals, Hoover has created bar preparation programs for emerging attorneys and regularly supports the growth of young lawyers including the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society.

As an adjunct faculty member, she brings real-world litigation experience, professional insight, and a passion for helping students build the skills and confidence needed for success in the legal field.

Outside of her legal practice, Hoover is a published author, classical pianist, fitness enthusiast, and freelance actor.
