Biography
LaDelia Jordan brings over 20 years of experience in data analytics, software engineering, and technology leadership. She has managed software engineering teams, data engineering teams, and analytics teams, leading complex initiatives that integrate large-scale data, predictive modeling, and system design. Her industry experience includes healthcare, financial derivatives, GIS, GPS, military defense, aviation, and energy. At Fortune 5 companies, she has supported enterprise strategy by analyzing over $150 billion in healthcare spend and developing solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and affordability.
In her current role as a Business Analytics Advisor, Professor Jordan leads enterprise-level data analytics initiatives and teaches courses in programming, data science, and applied computing. Since 2016, she has taught adult learners in both corporate and academic settings. She brings real-world experience directly into the classroom, helping students apply technical concepts using tools like Python, SQL, Tableau, and machine learning frameworks. Her teaching focuses on practical application, critical thinking, and preparing students for today’s data-driven roles.
She holds an M.S. in Advanced Data Analytics with a concentration in Management from the University of North Texas and a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics and Statistics from Louisiana Tech University. She is certified in Agile practices and actively mentors aspiring data professionals.
Her professional achievements include recognition as a finalist for an enterprise-wide performance award at a Fortune 5 healthcare company, selection into a competitive emerging leader program, and receipt of a cross-functional innovation award for collaborative impact.
Professor Jordan lives in Texas with her husband, Wilton, a database engineering expert with nearly 20 years of experience working with data, and their four children. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, cooking, and community service, including nearly 15 years of volunteering with the Girl Scouts.
