Biography

2009_faculty_honors

I have a M. A. in Speech Communication from San Diego State University.   I taught oral communication courses with an emphasis in public speaking, interpersonal and group communication since 1984.  I started as a graduate assistant.  After graduation I moved to Washington D.C. and worked as a professional lecturer at The George Washington University, Georgetown University and then worked at The Norwegian International School in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.  I joined Tulane University in January 2004 and teach Persuasive Public Speaking as Adjunct Faculty for the School of Professional Advancement.

My goal is to help people overcome their fear of public speaking.  If they succeed, I succeed.

I work full time at the John J. Hainkel Jr., Rehabilitation and Nursing Home as an Activities Director.  I am also a Long-Term Care and Social Services Director Designee and a Certified Senior Advisor. I have a daughter that is a LSU graduate Civil Engineer, a cat named Elvis, and like to sail in my free time.
