Joseph Dalessandro

Joseph (Joe) Dalessandro, MS, wanted to be a pirate when he grew up and the role of security auditor is as close as he will get. Joe has extensive experience and qualifications in Information Security and Audit and has worked around the world in roles in both.  Joe spent four years in Australia with a large US financial institution setting up their first Internal Audit department outside the USA, where he then served as Global Head of Internal Audit for the Asia-Pacific region covering Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. He also worked in Information Security conducting penetration testing and third party cybersecurity assessments.

Joe is currently Head of Security & Technology Audit and Audit Data Analytics for an Australian corporation. Joe also serves as CTO for SAM for Compliance, a cybersecurity start-up that provides a platform for cybersecurity standards assessment and assurance.  A life-long learner, Joe teaches cybersecurity concepts, including cyber risk, crisis response and technical security audit in the Graduate programs at Tulane University and Brandeis University in the USA.

Joe is a Senior Member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and an ACS Certified Cybersecurity Professional. He also serves on the ACS Cybersecurity Technical Advisory Board
