Biography

Hillary is the vice president of policy and advocacy for United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. As a community-connected government affairs, nonprofit and philanthropy executive rooted in social change work, she has dedicated her career to seeking equitable and just outcomes for underserved communities and mobilizing resources for transformational community impact. After spending nearly two decades in Washington, DC working on public policy at the national and local levels, Hillary returned to her native Texas to focus on educational equity and poverty reduction. She most recently served as vice president at Philanthropy Southwest, a regional grantmaking association, where she oversaw professional learning and public policy for grantmakers across the U.S. Southwest.  Prior to that, she was the founding executive director of After8toEducate, a collective impact organization supporting homeless Dallas ISD high school students with education, shelter, and other social services.

Hillary received her law degree from Howard University School of Law. She graduated from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Spanish; she also holds a Nonprofit Executive Certificate from the Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership at Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy. Hillary serves as a board director, with current and past service on local and national nonprofit boards supporting youth, housing, and education. She resides in Dallas, TX with her husband and two daughters.
