Biography
Deletra Hudson, MBA, also known as “The Financial Educator” is the owner of Deletra Hudson, LLC, a minority woman-owned financial coaching and consulting firm in St. Louis, Missouri. Deletra earned her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), with an emphasis in Finance, from Webster University – St. Louis, MO. She is certified as both an Accredited Financial Analyst (AFA) and a Master Financial Planner (MFP), and possesses over 30 years of financial experience. Her experience includes over 25 years working with municipalities and government entities, corporations, non-profit agencies, small businesses, churches, and professionals. Deletra started the financial consulting firm in 2003 as DMC Financial Group. In 2016, she added the financial coaching component to the firm and renamed it Deletra Hudson LLC.
Deletra Hudson specializes in supporting, restructuring, and organizing financially distressed municipalities. Throughout Deletra’s municipal government career, she has held several prominent positions which include City Manager, City Clerk, Budget Director, and City Treasurer for various municipalities in the States of Missouri and Illinois. She is an expert in financial and organizational management which is documented by her commitment to consistently obtaining the approval of annual budgets, managing millions of dollars in grants (federal and state), and collaborating with developers who created successful projects from public and private funds.
Deletra Hudson is also the founder of the Financial Wellness Institute of America, a nonprofit organization created to increase financial knowledge for small businesses, professionals, and youth through courses, books, educational systems, and workshops. She is an award-winning and best-selling author of adult and children's financial literacy books.
Deletra collaborates with municipalities, government entities, small businesses, and nonprofits to teach community leaders and staff financial management and operational management to help create initiatives that will foster revenue increases and expense reductions.
Deletra can be booked as a speaker for municipalities, corporations, businesses, and nonprofit agencies to facilitate financial literacy and management workshops, community relationship building, operating ethically and with integrity, and to help improve financial knowledge in community leadership, businesses and professions to increase financial positions.
Deletra Hudson is also a wife and mother of three. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Iota Phi Lamdba Sorority, Inc.
