Biography

Colleen Timmons is the Assistant Director of Advising who primarily works with School of Professional Advancement students seeking to earn degrees in the areas of Social Science, Humanities and General Legal Studies, while also assisting students in the pre-nursing program.

Colleen earned both her BA degree in Elementary Education and an MA degree in Student Personnel Services from Northwestern State University in Louisiana. Before joining SoPA she spent three years working with an international student population in the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Anglo-American University in Prague, Czech Republic. Colleen previously spent 17 years in Academic Services at Tulane University School of Law. She has also previously taught composition as well as English as a second language to international students.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her two dogs, reading historical fiction, and exploring New Orleans' restaurant scene.
