Biography

Ben Abbott joined Tulane Athletics as the Director of Strength and Conditioning in the summer of 2022.

In his role, he oversees all aspects of strength and conditioning for Tulane’s Olympic Sports programs and works directly with the women’s basketball team.

Abbott came to Tulane following five years at Winthrop University, where he served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. He originally joined the Eagles in June 2017, working with women’s basketball, women’s tennis, and women’s golf.

Before his time at Winthrop, Abbott earned his master’s degree in sports science from Florida State University in 2014 and remained in Tallahassee as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. He spent three years with the Seminoles before continuing his career at Winthrop.
