Biography

Ashlie serves as an Instructional Designer at Tulane's School of Professional Advancement (SoPA). She holds an integral position in the Learning Design and Development Team, primarily facilitating the Course Development Workshop—a platform where faculty members convene to devise comprehensive online courses for students. In collaboration with her team, Ashlie offers various faculty development opportunities, conducts personal consultations with course authors, and contributes significantly to achieving the objectives of SoPA's myriad programs.

An educated professional, Ashlie holds an M.Ed. in Adult Education and a B.A. in English Literature, both obtained from Auburn University. Post-graduation, she has honed her expertise in swiftly crafting high-caliber e-learning, hybrid, hi-flex, and face-to-face learning experiences. This expertise has been leveraged in both higher education and corporate training sectors, as evidenced by her previous roles at Auburn University and Chicken Salad Chick. Her journey with SoPA commenced in early 2021 as an Instructional Design Consultant, a role which has evolved to a full-time position where she now empowers various programs with her proficiency in enhancing their online learning experiences and digital learning resources.

Central to Ashlie's approach is a thoughtful consideration of your audience. She is dedicated to understanding their needs and the objectives they aspire to reach. She assists faculty in formulating specific, measurable learning goals, outcomes, and objectives. Furthermore, Ashlie aligns these with precise and authentic assessment techniques. This approach helps incorporate immediate feedback, encourage learner motivation, and customize the learning experience to pinpoint improvement areas and ensure continuous practice for learners.

In terms of media creation, Ashlie holds extensive experience with multiple content authoring applications, including but not limited to Canvas LMS, Articulate 360, Storyline, H5P, and Adobe Creative Cloud. This experience further enriches her multifaceted skills in instructional design and learning enhancement.
