An Award-Winning Author

Calvin Duncan (SoPA PLS, '19) earned one of the legal profession's highest honors. His book, The Jailhouse Lawyer has been recognized with the Silver Gavel Award from the American Bar Association for excellence in advancing the public's understanding of law and justice.

Jenny Mains (SoPA BLS, '26) balanced the daily complexities of serving as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development of New Orleans with her academic studies to earn a bachelor’s degree in May 2026 and now serves as Special Advisor to the Mayor for International Partnerships and Strategic Economic Development.
