Dear SoPA Students,

I hope that you are well and having a great semester. Here in Louisiana, more and more people are becoming eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, and New Orleans is starting to move into the next phase of normality, which is exciting.

This week's big news is a preview of our new Uptown spaces for students, faculty and staff in the renovated Richardson Hall. We look forward to welcoming both on-ground and online students there soon!

Thanks to those of you who supported us to once again have a record-setting day of fundraising during Tulane's annual Give Green day!

Brittney Yandle is a Senior Academic Advisor at SoPA. Brittney is an alumna of the University of New Orleans where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2013, and her Master of Education in Counseling in 2016. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and has worked as an advisor at Tulane since 2016. Brittney advises students in the graduate programs in Information Technology and Master of Public Administration as well as undergraduate in Digital Design and Teacher Preparation & Certification.

Brittney was born and raised in New Orleans and is an active member in the community today. She plays in many adult recreational sports leagues across the city, and can often be found at networking events around the area.

Brittney's advice to students is: "Be open and communicate with those who can help you, such as me, your advisor! There are no wrong answers or unimportant problems or questions. You matter and this journey matters, so take advantage of all the resources here for you! Remember, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
