Biography
Patrick Messmer the Director of Security & Emergency Operations at Audubon Nature Institute. In this role, Patrick leads the Security and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) teams for Audubon Nature Institute’s museums and parks. Patrick also plays a role in the safety committee.
Patrick’s experience outside of Audubon Nature Institute includes 5 years of experience as a paramedic in the greater New Orleans area. In these 5 years, Patrick had the opportunity to hold many different roles and responsibilities which include Emergency Dispatcher, Field Training Officer, and Disaster Response.
With a desire to give back, Patrick used his training and drive in EMS to serve as an Adjunct Instructor at Delgado Community College in the Department of EMS Education for 3 years. Here, Patrick taught CPR to Allied Health programs and taught the skills lab for entry-level EMT students.
Growing up in the New Orleans area, Patrick is excited to be pursuing his degree at Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement. Patrick is pursuing a major in Homeland Security Studies and a minor in Human Resources.
