Born and raised in New Orleans, Sarah worked in digital marketing and public relations after earning her MS in Commerce from the University of Virginia. She has spoken throughout the Southeast on social media and its ever-changing role in the digital and public relations landscape.
First career I dreamed of:
I have wanted to be a teacher/professor since the 7th grade. My English teacher was my role model/mentor, which is from where the idea originally sprung. I've always loved learning and helping others learn, so it was a natural fit. SoPA has been the perfect way for me to combine my childhood dream with my current career of PR/digital marketing/special events.
What are your favorite activities when you are not working?
I love to drink coffee, find new places to eat (and drink coffee) and travel (sometimes looking for more coffee). I also spend a lot of time with my pets (I currently have four cats (yes, it's a lot) and I can't wait to adopt a dog or two in the coming year).
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
If I could travel anywhere, I would love to go on safari. I love animals, and I would love the chance to see big cats, etc. up close in their natural habitats. I'd also love to learn more about the conservation efforts in Africa that are helping to save endangered species.
