Jason Lorino is a System Administrator working for Tulane University’s Technology Services department where he works with servers and applications to support the operations of the University. Mr. Lorino has worked in the Technology industry in Louisiana for over ten years and has over ten years of experience in management.
Mr. Lorino teaches in SoPA’s Applied Computing program. He is currently teaching Network Administration, a course that is designed to be a hands-on class to give students experience handling situations they will see once they begin working in the technology industry.
He received his B.S. from Southeastern Louisiana University, and M.P.S. from Tulane University. Mr. Lorino is also a big football fan, so when he is not pursuing the latest and greatest technologies, you can find him cheering for the home team.
What are your favorite activities when you are not working?
One of my favorite things to do when I am not working is to watch football. I am a huge college and NFL football fan, and watch every game that I can. During football season I will tape every game that my DVR will allow me to, and I will watch 1 or 2 live on the weekend and then I will watch the recorded games so that I have football to watch all week.
Other than trying out new technologies, my other favorite thing to do in my free time is to collect things. I love to collect and organize things as a hobby so have many different types of collections of both physical and digital items.
What is your favorite app and why?
My favorite app is Clash of Clans. This a video game where you build defenses, attack others, and go to wars as a clan. I love this game because it involves a lot of team work, patience, and some skill. The other reason I love this game is because when I was young I loved playing video games but of course with school, work, and family I eventually stopped playing them. Now that I have found this game it makes me feel like a kid at heart and brings back great memories of my childhood.
Who has influenced you most in life?
The person who has influenced me most in my life is my father. He always led by example and was always there for me when I needed anything.
