Biography
Demetra Dixon-Lawrence began her career as a paralegal in 2001. She is an alumni of Tulane SOPA - Legal Studies and currently the CEO of Eddie’s House in New Orleans and Fort Worth, TX (a nonprofit organization providing support services to at risk and homeless veterans).
As a paralegal, she contracts with law firms handling Personal Injury claims where she is responsible for the day-to-day handling of cases including proficiently opening a claim with an insurance company, property damage assistance, policy limits assertions, guiding the client through their treatment process, maintaining a h2 communication channel with the client, and ensuring he/she gets the treatment they require.
Additionally, Demetra is a Notary Public in the state of Texas. She is a public servant with statewide jurisdiction who is authorized to take acknowledgments, protest instruments permitted by law to be protested, administer oaths, take depositions, and certify copies of documents not recordable in the public records.
