Biography
Emerging Leaders Program
Ronni L. Tyger, Ed.D. is the Director of Learning Design & Development and the Program Coordinator for the Learning Experience Design specialization in the Master of Education Program. Dr. Tyger advocates for student-centric, learning experience design that ensures an equitable opportunity for learner success. She is a learning architect dedicated to digital equity and digital inclusion, learner performance, and breaking down barriers to social mobility. She specializes in digital pedagogy, online learning curriculum and program development and assessment; and program evaluation using learning outcomes, alignment, and continual quality assurance strategies.
Dr. Tyger has 21 years of experience in higher education. Prior to joining SoPA in 2021, Dr. Tyger served as the Director of Academic Technology & Distance Education for Authentic Learning at Dillard University leading Distance Education services and initiatives, instructional systems support, student support, and related faculty professional development at the college. She is a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer and active member of the LXD organization, the Online Learning Consortium, the Learning Guild, and UPCEA.
Dr. Tyger served as an active-duty member of the Georgia Air National Guard as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and is a proud veteran of a foreign war.
Dr. Tyger was the nomad child of a military service member and claims no hometown. She now lives in New Orleans with her partner and their four rescue pets and enjoys all things New Orleans; Laissez les bon temps rouler.
