Biography
Kristin W. Kibler, Ph.D., taught English abroad before returning to the United States and teaching at a traditional public high school in New Orleans. She then served in a coaching role in East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools and Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Her teaching and research interests center around improving educational outcomes and advancing equity for students from groups that have historically been minoritized and marginalized. To this end, she is interested in the promise of multicultural education, disability studies in education, bilingual education, critical literacy, and asset-based pedagogies and practices. She embeds liberatory frameworks into courses focusing on equity and inclusion, and creates dialogic spaces where she enjoys learning along with pre-service and in-service teachers.
