Biography
Britni Sweat has taught for eighth years at Chalmette Elementary School. She attributes her passion for learning and life experiences for driving her to the path of being an educator. Britni decided to become an elementary school teacher after gaining experience working in adult education, GED and literacy programs. Here, she realized her love for teaching and wanted to help younger students grow a passion for learning. As her career continued, she found her focus shifting from helping kids become passionate about learning to making sure they felt safe, empowered, and successful in their own way. For Brintni, “Every day is a new day, with new things to learn, experiences to have, and a chance to be better than we were the day before.”
