Welcome to the new Tulane School of Professional Advancement.
Our name has changed from the School of Continuing Studies but our mission has stayed the same.
This program will help to broaden your knowledge and skills with a mind, body and spirit approach to health and wellness. Students may earn an associate’s of arts or bachelor’s degree, a minor or a post baccalaureate certificate. In studying Health and Wellness, students learn to develop effective health and wellness programs tailored to the needs of both individuals and groups; demonstrate how exercise, nutrition, weight control, and stress management promote health; and develop workplace wellness practices.
Graduates will be competent in diverse aspects of health promotion, preventive wellness strategies, recovery from illness and/or injury, and the transitional phases of aging. They will be versed in providing educational services to adult employees as well as children. Graduates hold a range of positions in organizations, including wellness director, wellness program administrator, certified personal trainer, wellness programmer, coordinators of health and wellness programming in assisted living settings, and recreational program coordinator.
