Dear SoPA Students,

I am excited to announce that Tulane SoPA now offers a graduate certificate in Sports Medicine in partnership with the Tulane School of Medicine and the Center for Sport. The certificate will be offered starting in Summer 2021 and is made up of the following courses:

SPMD 6100 Foundations of Sports Medicine
SPMD 6110 Non-Traumatic Injuries in Athletics
SPMD 6120 Sports Performance Enhancement
SPMD 6130 Continuum of Care: Developing a Sports Medicine Program

Registration for courses can be found in the Schedule of Classes.

The Sports Medicine Certificate will provide you with an introduction to the foundational knowledge and skills important to the recognition, care, prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injury; the assessment and response to emergency situations involving athletes; and research into sports performance methods.

Whether you are a current kinesiology graduate student applying these courses towards your master's degree, or someone looking to explore an entirely different field from your undergraduate degree, I think this is a tremendous opportunity for you to gain knowledge in the field of Sport Medicine. It is also a chance to learn from outstanding faculty in the School of Medicine.
