In conjunction with the exhibition Queen Nefertari’s Egypt, museologist Erika Witt leads a community conversation to explore how ancient Egypt is recognized in different aspects of New Orleans’s culture. Featured panelists are experts in history, spiritualism, and iconography, and the group will discuss how resonances of ancient Egypt can be found in the daily life, work, and cultural activities of New Orleanians. This program is free to the public. Panelists include Tulane SoPA Humanities and Social Sciences professor, Melinda Nelson-Hurst. |
