New Email Security Requirement. Student Action Required.

SoPA student email will require Duo multi-factor authentication on July 12

Tulane IT’s cybersecurity team will begin enrolling SoPA student email accounts in Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA) July 12-14. Duo MFA is a secure way to authenticate your account login to prevent cyberattacks like phishing and ransomware and to secure your personal information.

Tidewater/Thomas J. Assad Scholarship

Awarded to academically meritorious part-time, undergraduate SoPA students majoring or minoring in Humanities or English. Students interested in applying for this award should complete the online application form by Aug. 5, 2022. 

Brian and Jill Rowe Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to students who are U.S. military veterans or on active duty with the U.S. military, with preference given to those who have been injured in the line of duty. Students interested in applying for this award should complete the online application form by Aug. 5, 2022.

Ancient Egypt in New Orleans: A Community Conversation at NOMA

Tuesday, July 12, 2022 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In conjunction with the exhibition Queen Nefertari’s Egypt, museologist Erika Witt leads a community conversation to explore how ancient Egypt is recognized in different aspects of New Orleans’s culture. Featured panelists are experts in history, spiritualism, and iconography, and the group will discuss how resonances of ancient Egypt can be found in the daily life, work, and cultural activities of New Orleanians. This program is free to the public. Panelists include Tulane SoPA Humanities and Social Sciences professor, Melinda Nelson-Hurst.
