Katherine Kingren teaches Introduction to Philosophy and Critical Thinking at SoPA’s Biloxi campus. She is the Staff Attorney for Judge Carter Bise, in the Eighth Chancery Court District of Mississippi, Gulfport, Mississippi. Ms. Kingren is licensed to practice law in Mississippi, Kentucky, the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to working as a staff attorney, she was a prosecutor in Louisville, Kentucky, working in the Domestic Violence Unit and the Violent Crime Unit.
Ms. Kingren has a J.D. from Duke University School of Law, and a M.A. in Philosophy from the Graduate School of Duke University. Since moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she has enjoyed practicing yoga.

What's the first career you dreamed of having as a child?
As a child I wanted to be a veterinarian.
Who has influenced you most in life?
My husband of thirty one years, Charles Hawkins, has been a constant source of support personally and professionally.
