
Biography
Marc Lyons is a member of Tulane University’s Class of 2023 where he is a candidate to receive his BA in Homeland Security with a minor in Information Technology. He has also served on the Tulane Honor Board and is a recipient of the James Monaghan and Alana Bishop Monaghan Scholarship.
While at Tulane, Marc participates in a number of civic oriented programs aimed at helping the Louisiana community. He is a volunteer for NOLA Ready which helps build a culture of preparedness and resilience, supporting first responders, community partners, and residents in disaster response and recovery efforts. NOLA Ready Corps volunteers are part of a team working to meet residents' needs before, during, and after emergencies.
Marc also works on coastal restoration projects with the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite people in action to achieve a thriving, sustainable Louisiana coast for all. Activities include tree planting to mitigate the impact of hurricanes and oyster shell recycling to slow coastal land loss.
In his spare time, Marc enjoys international travel, having visited far off destinations such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Iceland. He hopes to put this travel experience together with his degree and work in International Disaster Response helping people around the world.
