
Biography
A New Orleans native, Lionel Booth has over twenty years’ experience at Tulane, teaching business courses both on campus and online. He taught courses in Management, Finance, and Ethics at multiple campuses over the years, served multiple times as a Faculty Fellow and today works with colleagues on initiatives in the Business and Leadership Studies Program. He currently teaches Organizational Behavior and Global Business. Mr. Booth has an MBA from the A.B. Freeman School of Business and a B.S. in Engineering.
He founded a New Orleans-based research and development company specializing in fiber optic technology and served as the President of a New Orleans professional engineering firm, supplying consulting, and design services.
Post-Katrina, he moved to Houston and joined the management team of an international engineering firm and was appointed manager of a site in Singapore. While living in Asia, Mr. Booth continued to teach online.
Mr. Booth is committed to the continued growth of online education programs and offerings at SoPA and is dedicated to enhancing the student learning experience, high quality course content, course delivery and implementation of best practices using the Canvas LMS.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Australia - I love the country and the people.
What is your favorite app and why?
MS Word - I enjoy writing and Word is my preferred editor.
What's the first career you dreamed of having as a child?
Having been influenced while in grammar school by the early days of space travel, and the astronauts, I decided to be an engineer. I did.
